Every figure on this page is drawn from Other Matter’s own production and order records, 2024 to mid-2026. In that time, the studio has remained a single-person, hand-made operation based in Melbourne, by design, not by constraint.
PURPOSE
Our purpose is to develop renewable non-petrochemical materials through a circular design practice, creating viable alternatives to conventional plastics and reducing reliance on persistent petrochemical materials.
WHAT SCALE LOOKS LIKE NEXT
Other Matter materials are handmade in studio today, with a scaled-up pathway for distributed small-scale reprocessing in development, so more of what is displaced can be returned and remade, not just displaced once.
