What should a material do once its job is done?

Other Matter® makes completely naturally-derived bioplastic sheet materials for signage, interior surfaces and upholstery. Our patented formulations use a polymer extracted from algae and are non-toxic, closed-loop, and made to be taken back and remade.

Other Matter® is a research-led design studio working across material innovation and whole-system circular design. The studio explores the aesthetic and ecological potential of non-petrochemical polymers, developing them into applications across signage, surfaces and materials for interior architecture, furniture and objects.

Other Matter acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
